Things I Loved About This Week

(I've seen this idea on some other blogs and I really loved it. Thanks for sharing!!)

Watching Bella Ruth learning to set the dinner table. Remembering when I would do the same with the china and silver at my own childhood home.

The cute way that Clark smiles when his sister does something cute or funny.

The whole hearted belly laughs from our little man.

The beautiful cross necklace that my husband bought me.

The hand cream, nail polish and lip gloss that my children bought me.

The beautiful flowers from my father. A tradition he has done on every birthday from our first meeting in the hospital.

The lovely tote from my mother. Vera Bradley is the BEST!!!

The yummy birthday dinner from my M-I-L.

The birthday decorations that my oldest children worked so hard on. It was so sweet and just perfect.

The fun birthday lunch with my girlfriends. And the lovely cottage from Amy, I just wish I could move right in!

The Barnes and Noble gift card from my friend Tara. I just can't wait to use it. I need the new book Flower Sense by Tricia Guild.

The phone calls and emails for sweet birthday wishes.

And lastly, I'm just so happy that the flu is out of our house! :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Valentines Fun

We had a wonderfully sweet Valentines Day. It was filled with flowers, candy and balloons. We finished the night off with heart shaped grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. What more could I ask for? Three adorable children and a loving husband. I feel like the luckiest person alive.

Icicle collections

We had an ice storm here and Clark and Bella Ruth were dying to get outside. I finally agreed and guess what they wanted to do...fill glass jars with icicles!! I remember doing the same thing as a child with my brother. I just love watching my children doing some of the same things that I did, it brings back those special childhood memories :) What a sweet time.

Sorry for the sideways picture, I'm going to fix it when I have the time to repost :) Will Henry has a early rise time of 5:00A.M. and it's late Saturday night so I'm a little sleep deprived!! Usually I'm in bed but we had a wedding tonight!

Oh my, I also have a lot of yard work come spring :( I just really noticed the condition of my yard as I'm posting these pictures.

What cha givin' up Momma?

Came out of Clark's mouth at 6:45 yesterday morning. Since he is growing up and attending catholic school our everyday world has slowly been changing. These 2 methodist have learned a lot about religion and people's perception of different faiths. It really has forced us to grow and question our own beliefs. So at this time of lent we are deciding what to "give up". Clark is giving up skittles and M&M's!! Momma is giving up snacking. For forty days!!! In true Bella Ruth style she can't decide, and Daddy thinks ice cream (he loves to enjoy this dessert after the children are in bed EVERY Saturday night!) Although I know that Clark truly doesn't understand lent it warms my heart to think what a gift he has been given to be able to attend a school with such beliefs.

Playing in the snow

Well we have had the "sick house" here but Clark and Bella Ruth were feeling better so I let them play in the snow for a little while. The weather here has been crazy. Just a few days ago it was 70 F and all of the neighborhood children were outside playing. Suddenly there was this horrible wind that knocked down trees, and then rain and tornadoes all over the south. Then followed by this snow storm just a few days later. I took a picture of Clark and Bella Ruth standing by our neighbors tree. Notice the roots were pulled out of the ground. Crazy!!

Clark also made a snowball line, no snowman this year. Children are just so silly!

Super Princess Ava

On this Sunday please remember this wonderful mother Sheye and her family in your prayers. It is coming upon the one year anniversary of their cherished daughter Ava's death. This story was shared with me by my dear friend Amy and it has really pulled at my heart. It just reminds us that everything can change in an instant. My parents have always told me that most accidents happen when both parents are at home and this tragedy reflects that statistic.

You may visit Sheye's blog on the right of my page. Ava's parents are tyring to get her story out through www.avasrule.com.

It's a special day because...

it's Will Henry's first snow. This was the reason for Daddy's lay-down night with Clark last night. You can always find lots of "special days" if you look through the eyes of a child.

After months of praying for snow we finally got a little!! Today was a snow day so Clark, Bella Ruth and I had lots of fun playing in the snow. We made tons of snow balls. We ate a little snow ice cream too. Enjoy the pictures!!

Back in the day!!!

Last Saturday night we went to a dinner/dance auction at our childrens' school. It was an 80's theme and we went all out! Anyone who knows my husband knows that this is his thing. He wore his Dad's old tennis shorts with a tight polo, white knee socks, white shoes, sweat bands and carried a tennis racket. I wore his old class of '83 shirt and letter jacket. I did find some great jeans and shoes to go with my look. This took a lot of work to pull off and a great time was had by all!!!
