Sledding Fun and Fried Bologna Burgers

It's not very often that we get enough snow to actually go sledding. When we do EVERYONE just loves it. In our neighborhood there were snowmen in lots of yards and snow angels all over ours. We were invited to go sledding on our friends farm and boy did we have fun. You see, sledding where we live is impossible. We live in the Mississippi Delta and it is flat. Just 15 miles north you are back in the hills so you have to pack up and go north to get any ground for sledding. As luck would have it my parents were in town so they got to go along. After sledding the whole crew went to a tavern for fried bologna burgers. As if big thick hamburgers were not enough they throw a little fried bologna on it. They have great corn dogs and fried okra for children. Schindlers has been around since 1934 and is located in a sleepy little town of about 500 with a beautiful Catholic Church next door. This was the location of my first official date with my husband so of course I might be a little biased. One of our friends moved here from Dallas about 5 years ago and he was telling my parents that there are certain things you miss about the city, but you don't get the little places like Schindlers. How true that is. It was just great family fun! Thank you Klueppels for the invite!!!

We enjoyed sledding this winter...for the first four months. Now I am ready for Spring! :)
It looks like you had fun! It is such a joy to have our children reminding us of the simple pleasures in life. I had forgotten how to build a snowman until Annabelle came along. Now, I could write a book!
